Acapella for Self Control: Chapter 2

about

This is the 2nd record of SELF CONTROL,
my first solo album. Not only is this my first solo album, it also semi-autobiographically describes the struggles I and many other creative people have gone through, on the way to living their True Purpose. From total grief, poverty, shame, and confusion; to accountability, trustworthiness, interdependence, and focus. Each track sees the protagonist, Kha-lel, overcome his own defeatist mindset in a journey of increasing Self Control.

Even though this is a fictional Hip-Hop story, based on challenges I've confronted in real life, the lyrics are still full of conscious insight and accountability for parents who want to enjoy authentic bangin' beats and liquid lyrics, without exposing their seeds to the vulgarity and stupidity of Hip Pop. Time for that real Hip-Hop

lyrics

What's this, who's that?
Too easy to lose track of what to do,
could use some help where you at?
I'm just confused cause
too much to do, plus
Too easy to lose track of what to do,
could use some help where you at?
What's this, who's that?
Too easy to lose track of what to do,
could use some help where you at?
What's this, who's that?
Too easy to lose track of what to do,
could use some help where you at?

Just adjust yourself,
cause it's all in the mind?
I don't have a dad
that you call up when you're cryin'
Got ten fingers to point
the blame for the crimes,
but just like these fingers,
all of 'em mine,
so I find quotes in books
and blogs online.
Remind me everything shines
in it's own time,
but I'm in the East
with a West Coast state of mind,
meanin' late to the right place
at the wrong time.
Make the right thing
seem wrong all of the time,
like a conscious MC
spittin' a bling rhyme.
In the meantime,
needin' my goals to align.
Eyesight fine,
but you could've swore
I was blind.
Tryin' to figure out a path
to where I'm trying
to be on the map,
even though I don't
see where I'm at.
Tryin' to figure out the road
to where I'm trying
to go on the map,
even though I don't
know where I'm at.

I'm just confused
too much to do.
Too easy to lose track of what to do,
could use some help where you at?
What's this, who's that?
Too easy to lose track of what to do,
could use some help where you at?

What's this, who's that?
Too easy to lose track of what to do,
could use some help where you at?
I'm just confused cause
too much to do, plus
Too easy to lose track of what to do!
