The 6th Chapter sees our protagonist, Kha-elL coming to the end of the needy phase of his development. He admits that he has been a liability for far too long, and clarifies his intention to be an asset henceforth to those who aid him on the journey to "SELF CONTROL". Instead of hating those who question his determination, he understands their perspective and strives to earn their respect.
This is Self Suffice's 1st solo album since recording the critically acclaimed "Manhattan Night" CD with Dreamville's Mez. Also available at
They consider me / onna team,
but ain' convinced I should really be
it's a difference between / an asset or liability
It's a difference between what you talk,
'n what you really be
awkward speakin’ when caught in a lie,
it get difficult ta breathe
Unexpectedly gettin results, was really neat,
but now dat dey depend on me, it's my responsibility,
that's why dey give me dese
privileges, bein’ wit da team / made my dream a possibility
look at my insecurities...
It's kinda easy / findin' reasons / why you couldn't reach
ya full potential, all em people who didn't believe
but this is complicated / cause alotta people gave us
da chance, keep it a hundred, I'm the one dat kinda hated
To be honest, in my mind it's a conflict
got it in my head that I cannot keep promises
nah dat wasn't my intent, I ain' meana lie ta you,
I shine every now and then, I'm just unreliable
I’m deniable, unreliable.
you wanna trus' it, but don't wanna be liable
you wanna trus' it, but don't wanna be liable
You wanna trus’ it, But you don’t…] x2
Maybe it ain' even hard as I pretend,
Had tried da please everybody,
now I decide who I befriend,
'preciate da ones remainin’ dependable to da end,
bringin' out da best in me… MY destiny is wit’ them
so whoever ain't relatin’ to my friends, don't relate to me
tryna stunt, aggravatin 'em, you look strange to me
pull me ta da side, now you where it ain't safe to be
you ain't changin us, baby be careful what you say to me
even if it's dangerous, now I gotta take a stand,
makin' sure my people know, I'm nuttin' like them fakers and
besides
lettin our haters know dat fa sure they can't test this,
doin my best to / make sure yall neva regret this,
decision yall makin to consider me on ya side,
swallow my pride / if I'm denied / continue ta ride,
til you convinced, I'm a shine 'n / I'm tired a hidin'
a soldier fa da cause, someone you can confide in
want y'all know I messed up, but wasn't tryin to,
I wanted us to win, I ain't mean'a lie ta you,
and I appreciate you lettin' me confide in you,
believe it not, I continue ya ride fa you!
it's undeniable, that I could rely on you
Imma do what you need to see that I wouldn’’t lie to you
Imma do what you need to see that I wouldn’t lie to you
Cuz I can see you different from the rest,
It ain’t a lot o’ you.} x3
