The 11th Chapter sees our protagonist, Kha-elL finally enjoying an abundance of wealth, health, happiness, and most importantly understanding. On the journey to “SELF CONTROL” he sees happiness isn’t measured by what you have, but what you appreciate, and so he makes the most of everything he already has.
This is Self Suffice's 1st solo album since recording the critically acclaimed "Manhattan Night" CD with Dreamville's Mez. Also available at
Abundance - in so many places
I ain't notice before cause I mainly wasted
My energy - money 'n time
so when I got more, I would just pay more fines
Feedin' addiction - where da washington go
fa da broke man, go down even more fa richmond
start keepin - ya joneses in check,
ain't tryina keep up wit da jones, da jones' in debt
Now I'm in a different position but I won't forget
givin' up my old attitude I 'on't regret
was self righteous, talkin bout what I deserve,
before I earned it, a arrogant brova wit nerve
it be a front, to say this is not enough
got so much, I already got enough,
it be a front to say I on't want some more
adored what have, so much I got some more
--
back when I thought I never had enough, I never had da stuff,
cuz even when I had stuff, that was never enough
meanin' even when my numbers went up, I had it rough
no matter how I added it up, wasn't addin' up
listen,
it's not what you givin, its' what you give,
instead of fly whips sittin in garages, my cars driven
instead a talkin bout what I got, I'm livin,
When I'm involved you get win hunid % commitment.
so many men n women physically disabled
mentally unstable, in a miserable state,
when they try to come to da table...
in their honor, I'm a do what dey can't do,
show I'm grateful to be ready, willin, AND able
energy go, where attention flow
so when you lack it, it goes
when you have it, it grows amidst da cracks in da concrete
what I plan' it a rose
---
it be a front, to say this is not enough
got so much, I already got enough,
it be a front to say I on't want some more
adore what I have, so much I got some more x2
---
meanwhile now I see how, da jones misstep
from flashin what they could get, 'fore they earned it yet
I rather make sure I earn what I yearn to get
cause what's a king size bed, on the curb in debt
so now I pay every bill, on time if not earlier,
to lay very still, on what's mine, preferin' to
own my own home, 'stead a gettin' evicted
livin' out in the cold wit some high priced furniture
miserable company 'n things,
fade to da back when you focus on kings n queens
it's easier than I thought, tho I use to think different
flossin... when I could a bought some equipment
steada spendin' all at energy on convincin',
reach hights, be da light dey see inna distance >
abundance - actually come from within
not tryina PROVE it to dem, YOU jus' ACTUALLY win!
* * *
it be a front to say this is not enough
got so much, I already got enough,
it be a front to say I on't want some more
adore what have, so much I got some more x2
all that approval before I was tryin to get
through material things, just left me dyin in debt
you see abundance - is everywhere on this earth,
lettin go what I think i know, growin aware what works
eat less than I burn, spend less than I earn,
spread knowledge, but only teach less than I learn x2
