about

The 4th Chapter sees our protagonist, Kha-elL switching from an introverted passive phase to an extroverted aggressive phase on the journey to "SELF CONTROL". Now he takes action instead of complaining, but... is he taking too much action? Is there a difference between acting and REACTING? Does being our best really mean making others look their worst? Are we more like our enemies than we care to admit?

This is Self Suffice's 1st solo album since recording the critically acclaimed "Manhattan Night" CD with Dreamville's Mez. Also available at

lyrics

Feelin sorry for anybody who
ain't in love wit my age, sex, color, race/
bout to start, seein a lot more a this bruvas face/
if I see you where I'm at, or even any otha place/
got my appetite fa destruction wantin anotha taste/

You my enemy, I know it/ you aint a friend of me,
so you could try da end this beef, I want mo' of it/
whateva you controllin now? I'll be overthrowin it/
so when you see me, just remember dat I told you this!

Who am I really tho? I'm startin' ta question me/
Do so many things I wouldn't do, but for my enemies/
Blamin' it on 'em, cause they provokin' me 'n gettin me/
mad... On second thought,
they ain't makin' me, dey just lettin' me

What I do da them, if they do da same, I would/
claim they doin' wrong, but if I do it back, I'm good/
man who am I really? Say I'm against my enemy,
but play da same, now I'm seein' why yall ain't feelin' me

Share da same field 'n court/ da same, gear for sport/
we just on a different team, which mean/
dat we follow da same rules, to get da cream/
so if it wasn't you, somebody in the same
outfit would have to get between

me 'n my goal, unless I go
for a different dream, til I switch da game/
can't really diss da team/
now I get what dey really mean/
when 'ey say don't hate da playa when/
you ain't like da game, why you came/
to the stadium?

to play against/ the most worthy opponents/
at every moment/ knowin' they would play da win/
cuz if dey don't, you overthrowin' it,
whateva they controllin' now, that is,
don't you remember when you tol' 'em this?

Who am I really tho? I'm startin' ta question me/
Do so many things I wouldn't do, but for my enemies/
Blamin' it on them, cause they provokin' me 'n gettin me/
mad... On second thought,
they ain't makin' me, dey just lettin' me

Hind sight 20/20, dictators is evil/
but they was considered heroes/
come to liberate da people/ at the time/
No one could see da way we let da mind/ deceive you/
to think only certain kinda people/ do the crime

But you blind/ to behind/ what da human eye could find/
the con/
tent of ya character, dat was in a line/
by a wise man gone before his time/
help me da see it's two ladders.
How I know which ladder is mine...

is that I notice what direction they lean to/
between the two/
what's best fa you,
ain't always betta for me too/ it seem/
paradoxical, but we could be on opposite teams/
for me to/ play da game better I need you

So who am I really tho? I'm startin' ta question me/
Would I still do it? If it wasn't for my enemies/
then who would - I blame it on?
provokin' 'n givin' me/ a couple more excuses
for not bein' a better me!

Who am I really though? x3
Who am I really, think I could be a better me!
